Casio Digital Imaging Programme for Schools
Astor College for the Arts is a member of Casio's Digital Imaging Programme for Schools, designed to raise achievement levels across the curriculum. Our College was chosen for its strengths within the Visual Arts and has been awarded a set of Casio Digital Cameras and support to fund a project which shows the effect that digital imaging has on the learning process.
Astors project is called Bushido (meaning way of the warrior) and is about Japanese Manga animation. A group of Year 10 students will work with Miss de Stacpoole to use digital cameras to photograph each other in Japanese Warrior poses. The group will then collage an image of their own Manga drawings overlaid with the photographs. All the final Photoshop images
will then form a group movie, with the images merging in and out of each other. More details to follow soon.
The excellent manga drawing on the left was done by Charlie.
